Sauber inaugurates new UK technology center
Ahead of its transformation into an official Audi team for 2026, Sauber has opened its new technology center at Bicester Motion in the UK.

Sauber announced the opening of its new technology center based at Bicester Motion, in the UK, marking a key step in the team’s transition to becoming the Audi factory team in Formula 1 from 2026.
A new center in the United Kingdom
Located on the 444-acre site of Bicester Motion, in an area nicknamed Motorsport Valley, in the heart of the Midlands and the South East of the country, where seven of the ten F1 teams are based.
Sauber specifies that this facility will provide a base enabling the team to benefit from local expertise and support the Audi F1 project headquarters in Hinwil, Switzerland, in order to create a coherent and integrated approach to all aspects of the project.
The Bicester center, located in building 123, has the primary goal of strengthening and expanding the technical capabilities of the team to ensure it is well-positioned to attract top engineering talent and foster partnerships with leading industrial supply chain specialists.
Sauber had already announced its intention to open this center earlier in the year, as preparations intensify for its transformation into the Audi factory team from 2026.
The Audi team congratulates itself
Mattia Binotto, head of the Audi F1 project, stated: « The opening of the Sauber Motorsport Technology Centre at Bicester Motion represents an important step as we prepare for Audi’s entry into Formula 1. »
This facility will allow us to tap into the talent pool of Motorsport Valley and enhance our technical capabilities while being part of a dynamic cluster at Bicester Motion where motorsport is a true passion. The support provided to Hinwil will be crucial for our long-term success.
