Frédéric Vasseur could be pleased with his men at the end of the Belgian Grand Prix. On the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, the troops of the French boss delivered a great race that resulted in a strong overall performance, including a podium for Charles Leclerc.

« I am delighted with the step forward we have made and I think we can be proud because I know the amount of work that has been done by the entire team in Maranello. This definitely helped us secure this podium and keep Max behind today. It wasn’t easy because he was really very close until the end of the race » said the Monegasque driver after crossing the line in third position.

« Once we got past the slicks, I knew I had to stay focused and push to get onto the podium, and here we are, happy to bring this result home. Our developments are delivering what we hoped for, and we must continue to learn how to maximize their potential. »

For his part, Lewis Hamilton achieved the comeback of the day. Starting 18th, the seven-time world champion climbed up to 7th place.

« Today was a really positive day. The strategy and pit stops were executed perfectly, and the changes we made to the setup allowed me to get the best out of the car. The weekend had started off difficult, so finishing on a positive note gives me confidence for Budapest. I want to thank everyone in Maranello for their hard work on the developments. I look forward to building on this for the second part of the season. »

In the championship, Ferrari consolidates its second place ahead of Ferrari and Red Bull, still far behind McLaren.
