In Hungary, Charles Leclerc hopes for a good weekend on a track that does not suit him well
A week after his fine third-place finish in Spa, the Ferrari driver is aiming to build on his success in Budapest, for the last race before the summer break.

Current fourth in the championship, Charles Leclerc has five podiums this season, including the most recent one a few days ago at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. Before heading off on a well-deserved vacation, the Monegasque driver is heading to Hungary, a circuit where he has yet to step onto the podium.
« This is by far the worst circuit of the season for me. I don’t know why I haven’t had success here in the past. Maybe because of my driving style, I just have to work harder here. I don’t know where it comes from, but I’m still confident of having a good weekend. »
Regarding the championship, Leclerc specifies that the goal is above all to regain the taste of success, notably thanks to the developments planned for the SF-25. In Belgium, the Scuderia has already inaugurated a new rear suspension, for example.
« Our main objective is to win races as quickly as possible. I don’t think there is a circuit where we are faster than McLaren. Red Bull experiences ups and downs, like us and Mercedes. There is only one team that is consistent, and that’s McLaren. So there is no circuit where we will be favorites, but I hope to be surprised. »
When asked about the technical revolution looming for 2026, the Ferrari driver acknowledges that his team will need to head in the right direction from the start and relies on his boss, Frédéric Vasseur, for this.
Next year will be a turning point for us as it marks a new era. If you don’t start off on the right foot, it will be difficult to bounce back. We’ll see, but it won’t change the love I have for Ferrari and my determination to make Ferrari better and win races. The way Fred makes a difference is through his overall vision, which is very, very important. The beauty of Ferrari is that it’s a team with a lot of passion around it, which can be detrimental when the results are not there, so let’s hope they will be next year.
One of the pieces of information in recent hours is, precisely, the extension of the French leader at the head of the Scuderia. A piece of news that satisfies Leclerc.
« I am very happy. There have been rumors in recent months, so having this confirmation makes me very happy. Fred can now set his emotions aside and look forward. »
The start of the Hungarian Grand Prix, the 14th round of the season, will be on Sunday at 3 PM.
