Fernando Alonso to miss FP1 in Hungary through injury
With just a few hours to go before the F1 cars take their first turns at the Hungaroring, Aston Martin has announced that its Spanish driver will not be taking part in the first free practice session.

It is through a short statement that the Aston Martin team announced the absence of Fernando Alonso for the FP1 of the Hungarian Grand Prix. While these are set to take place at 1:30 p.m. on the Hungaroring circuit for the 14th round of the season, the double world champion will be replaced by reserve driver Felipe Drugovich in the AMR25.
In the days following the Belgian Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso had to manage a muscle injury in his back. Since he continues his treatment this morning, he has decided not to participate in FP1. Felipe Drugovich will drive in FP1 alongside Lance Stroll. A decision will be made later regarding Fernando’s participation in FP2 and the rest of the weekend.
Candidate for a full-time position next year with Cadillac, with whom he already races in Endurance, Drugovich will thus participate in his seventh free practice session with Aston Martin, the last having taken place at the Bahrain Grand Prix earlier this year.
The first free practice session of the Hungarian Grand Prix will take place from 1:30 PM.
