Adrian Zaugg for South Africa won the first Sprint race of the year in A1 Grand Prix. He opens the third season of the World Motorsport Cup. He leads ahead of the Frenchman Loic Duval and the Netherlands’ Bleekemolen, at home.

Adrian Zaugg started from pole position and never let go of his first place. The race lasted 11 laps, and the South African driver stuck 7 seconds to the Frenchman Loic Duval, who finished second, just as he had started.

At the start, only one single-seater did not start, Australia, which will finally start from the pit lane a few minutes later. Dyk finally finishes second to last, ahead of the USA, very bad for this start.

Lebanon is making the best start. Alajajian started 18th but at the first corner had gained back the 14th place.

In 11 laps, there were not many overtakings. Alex Yoong managed to overtake China on lap 4. In the same lap, Jonhny Redi for New Zealand was passed by Great Britain for the 8th position.

A few corners later, it’s the local driver who is in 4th place who sets the track on fire with a very nice overtaking maneuver on the Mexican Salvador Duran and will not give up his position.

Switzerland finished 5th without much difficulty, followed by Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, and New Zealand, which was overtaken in the final laps by Firman.
