Report Friday – No surprises at Super Aguri

The Super Aguri team began its 2007 Chinese weekend today at the Shanghai International Circuit after leaving the Fuji Speedway just four days ago. The team had a trouble-free Friday and completed its scheduled testing programs during the two practice sessions.

During these, Sato and Davidson completed more than 60 laps each and finished the sessions in positions they are accustomed to, which is between 15th and 20th place.

Takuma Sato – 16th and 20th

“I think it was a normal day. I had a bit of traffic on my quick run, but I believe we collected a sufficient amount of data.”

“From an aerial point of view, as well as on the few long runs on the tires, everything turned out to be encouraging. We have a lot of information to work on tonight, which will hopefully allow us to improve our strategy for tomorrow.”

Anthony Davidson – 19th and 17th

“I appreciated today’s day. The circuit was interesting and dry, the car had a good balance.”

“We worked on our race time towards the end of the second session and I am quite happy with the situation we are in. I am looking forward to the qualifying tomorrow.”

“It was a normal Friday. The two cars managed to operate in accordance with the predetermined schedule.”

“In general, we have gathered our usual data. We must still ensure that we optimize our strategy for tomorrow, and the weather forecasts might make it variable for Sunday. Thus, we need to keep this in mind.”
