Fernando Alonso – 2nd and 2nd
“Very close free practice sessions, without any particular issue. As usual, we worked on our setup in the morning, and then we made progress in the afternoon where we focused more on tire comparison.”
“It is good to be back in China because I love this circuit. I expect it to be a very interesting weekend with the four main cars performing very well here.”
Lewis Hamilton – 4th and 4th
“This circuit represents the unknown for me once again as I don’t know it. I completed the planned program for today. It is an enjoyable circuit to drive. I look forward with interest to the rest of the weekend where I think we have a very good chance of achieving another great result.”
Ron Dennis – Director
“Two practice sessions without any issues, where we combined progress and performance across all the cars. The times were close and in line with our expectations, so we will need to look at the small details to see where we can gain an advantage over our main competitors, and this will be done overnight.”
“However, we are happy with the strategy employed so far and intend to perform well throughout the weekend.”
Norbert Haug – Mercedes Motorsport Director
“As usual, the top four in the trials are closely matched. Today we did what was planned, and the main thing is to have a good result in the end.”
