The leaders of the A1GP announced on Friday that they have not found an 11th circuit to host the so-called Asian weekend of the championship, which was supposed to take place at the beginning of November.
The organizers have therefore decided to cancel what was supposed to be the third round of the championship and to shorten the calendar to only 10 meetings.
We regret to announce the cancellation of the third round of the 2007/08 A1GP championship season, a report indicated.
« Despite ongoing discussions with various circuits across Asia, the series was unable to reach a satisfactory agreement with a suitable circuit to host the event scheduled for November 2-4, 2007. » the report continues.
There will now be a 6-week interval between Brno, which will take place next week, and Sepang, on November 25.
Another change was also announced regarding the date of the second Chinese race of the season. The Shanghai race has been moved from April 6 to April 13 to coincide with other regional events.
