According to Bernie Ecclestone – Formula 1’s boss – Lewis Hamilton would be the ideal new world champion to bring F1 back on track after Michael Schumacher’s departure.

He also admits that Fernando Alonso is not a world champion because, according to him, he has done nothing for F1 since his two world titles.

Always for Ecclestone, Räikkönen also does not have the soul of a world champion because he « talks to almost no one ».

“It would be difficult for me not to imagine Lewis Hamilton being world champion,” admitted Bernie Ecclestone. “In fact, my main concern would be that he doesn’t win this season.”

« If Lewis wins the drivers’ championship, he will truly act like a champion. He will know exactly what he has to do and what he must do. »

For the chief financial officer of F1, Hamilton is the messiah, following the retirement of the seven-time world champion, Michael Schumacher.

« Without Hamilton, I really don’t know where this sport would have headed, » he concluded.

The championship seems well on its way to proving Ecclestone right…
