With two races left in the championship, the Red Bull team has just made a significant impact by delivering unprecedented performances this year. As a result, the team finds itself right behind Ferrari and McLaren, enjoying the luxury of being significantly ahead of BMW.

Coulthard leads this success with his vast experience and finishes the qualifying session in 5th place, having completed a trouble-free race without interference from his competitors. Webber positions himself in ambush at 7th place. Will all this be confirmed in the race tomorrow in the rain!?

David Coulthard – 6th and 5th

“Fifth is an excellent position to start tomorrow’s race, it’s a great satisfaction to be in the top ten. I’m honestly a bit surprised; I’m driving exactly the same way as in the last qualifying sessions, but for some reason, there weren’t any cars that bothered me in my fast laps!”

“I have no complaints, the car suits the track perfectly. The weather might be unpredictable tomorrow, and thus the challenges could increase. But it can’t be as difficult as it was in Fuji last weekend. In terms of points, we are ideally positioned to score several, like last week if everything had gone normally. I am happy for my engineers who work directly on my car and for the team as a whole. Their work has been somewhat overshadowed by some reliability issues we’ve had this year, I am very happy for them.”

Marc Webber – 10th and 7th

“We were focused on our strategy for tomorrow’s race with the expected rainy weather. The team performed very well today, and it’s good to see both cars in the top ten at this stage of the championship, as it puts some pressure on Williams in our fight for fourth place.”

“This also gives the team confidence for the next season, I can’t wait for tomorrow.”

Christian Horner – Director

“A great team for the results it has just produced. That is what I think first. Finally, after having missed very good chances so often this season, we comfortably placed both our cars in the top ten. Our two drivers worked consistently throughout the weekend and supported each other.”

“David did a very solid job and gave us our best qualifying position of the year with a fifth place on the grid, while Marc lines up seventh. It is a solid result, and strategically, we believe we are well-positioned to face the conditions that might arise tomorrow.”
