Marcus Grönholm announced yesterday during an interview that even in retirement, the Finn will continue to participate in a few rallies during the 2008 season.
In 2008, according to him, he might return in a Ford shared with Jari-Matti Latvala, at Stobart without a doubt – teams of the Focus WRC.
« Nothing is decided and for the moment, I am just focused on what we have to do for the rest of the season », Gronholm said.
« When it comes to the Monte Carlo Rally, I’ll be by the roadside, watching them pass by, and I’ll just have to laugh when they struggle to choose their tires… » Celebrates the Finn. « But for the Finland Rally, it will be more interesting. »
Without actually specifying anything, Gronholm – teammate of Mikko Hirvonen at Ford – admitted that Malcolm Wilson, the team boss, could get him a car from time to time after his retirement.
« I heard from Malcolm [Wilson] that Marcus [Gronholm] might come back for a few rallies next season », said Hirvonen.
Regarding the speculations about Gronholm’s replacement in 2008 at Ford, Hirvonen remains indifferent: « If Marcus leaves, it doesn’t matter who my teammate will be… » he concluded.
