It was Tom Kristensen who secured pole position at Hockenheim for the final event of the 2007 DTM season. The Audi driver led a triple for the brand with the rings. Results

The Dane managed to snatch the pole by 1 tenth of a second from his Audi teammates, Timo Scheider and Mattias Ekstrom.

The Swede is currently leading the championship by 2 points over Bruno Spengler and 4 points over Martin Tomczyk and seems to be in the best position to win the title at the end of these qualifications.

The first Mercedes representative, Jamie Green, is only 3 tenths behind, while in 5th position we find Tomczyk, ideally placed to prevent Spengler from scoring big points for the title.

Bernd Schneider and Gary Paffett complete the top 10, while Alexandre Prémat, the only French representative, is 10th.

Originally, it was Daniel La Rosa who should have taken the 10th position, but following his collision three weeks ago in Barcelona, he received a 10-place penalty on the starting grid. He will therefore start 18th, ahead of Vanina Ickx – daughter of Jacky Ickx – who is more than 3 seconds behind the frontrunners.

Mika Hakkinen, another victim of a penalty, will start at the very back despite having posted the 12th best performance.
