The six drivers vying for the world champion title will all board their vehicles with the maximum weight handicap of 60 kg in Macau for the final 2007 event of the touring car championship: Andy Priaulx (titleholder), Yvan Muller, Augusto Farfus, James Thompson, Jörg Müller, and Nicola Larini.
Gabriele Tarquini and Robert Huff, 8th and 9th in the championship standings respectively, will have the same weight handicap, while Alain Menu and Jordi Gené will be five kilos lighter.
“Between these ten men, who are in the top ten positions in points, and the rest of the field, there is a gap of 40 kg.”
In total, 18 drivers will have to endure a weight handicap, including newcomers Duncan Huisman, Franz Engstler, and Andrey Romanov.
