Many speculations commented on possible transfers for 2008 at Ferrari. But the Scuderia officially announced today its drivers for next year.

Felipe Massa – who has been with Ferrari since 2001 but has only been driving since last season – has re-signed with the Reds until 2010.

The Brazilian’s contract was originally set to end next season, but the Scuderia has officially extended it by two years. Therefore, he will stay for at least 5 years, if everything goes well for him.

Kimi Räikkönen also has a contract with the Scuderia until 2009, with a possibility of extension until 2010. Therefore, Ferrari’s driver line-up is expected to remain unchanged until the end of 2010.

This official announcement puts an end to certain rumors that suggested Alonso, in total break with his team, would drive for Ferrari in 2008 or 2009. The Renault hypothesis therefore seems the most probable. The 2008 lineup is finally starting to take shape.

Since Massa has been a full-time driver for Ferrari, he has achieved five victories, sixteen podiums, eight pole positions, and fastest laps in 34 Grand Prix.
