Satisfactory result in Corsica for Citroen Sport!

This third victory in Ajaccio is the 35th in the career of the Loeb/Elena duo, but Marcus Grönholm’s second place does not allow the number 1 team to display great serenity.
« I am delighted to impose myself once again in this event that I appreciate » savors Loeb.
« Our weekend was not at all restful with a somewhat missed start. With the technical team, we then corrected things well by slightly adjusting the settings of our C4. From SS4, I found a car that suited me perfectly, which allowed us to take the lead, widen the gap, and win. We gain two points on our rival in the championship, and the upcoming races promise to be very exciting! »
For his part, Sordo is generally satisfied: « To maintain pressure on Marcus Grönholm, our tire choice was a bit more ‘aggressive’ than Seb’s. It worked well on SS13 as the first split times were in our favor, but then I spun. I’m disappointed I couldn’t secure second place. »
Yesterday, I didn’t have the right feeling with the car and I lost way too much time to hope to replicate the same result as in Spain. We are 3rd but it’s not really our fault, as we had some mechanical issues. We made some changes (note: transmission, suspension) and afterwards the car was very easy to drive, it was completely different, I was able to drive very clean. We lacked consistency with the car to achieve a better result.
« I don’t know if I’ll be able to help Seb in Ireland, because it won’t really be like a usual asphalt rally, it will be too tight with too many bumps and holes. » concluded the Spaniard.
Four points separate Sébastien Loeb from Marcus Grönholm before the trips to Japan, Ireland, and Great Britain.
