One of the three contenders for the world championship title is Kimi Räikkönen. The latter remains unfazed by the stakes of this Brazilian Grand Prix.
The mathematics, admittedly, do not play in his favor, but the Ferrari driver explained how he planned to approach the race: “We don’t have much to lose and I think we will treat this final event more like a normal race,” he told Autosport.
« Maybe we will need to do something during the race, but we won’t do anything crazy because that probably won’t work, » added Iceman.
The Finn recalled that he will need to put all the odds in his favor if he wants to be able to beat Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso for the title.
« We have never been in such a good position this year, so why couldn’t the elements stay on our side for three more days, » he said.
We had some problems during the year and had to resign ourselves to a number of points that were designated to us by default but that we eventually managed to obtain.
« We were able to catch up with the McLaren Mercedes drivers as much as possible, but we definitely need a bit of luck on Sunday to try to win. If we want to come out on top, a surprise from the Woking team would be welcome » explained the Finnish driver.
Räikkönen celebrated his 28th birthday this Wednesday. When asked what he did during the day, he said: « Not really anything. It was just a normal day, we just went out to eat. That’s all the better »
« Maybe I will receive something or maybe not. It’s not an important thing as you get older. At ten, you are the happiest but now… » He concluded.
