Report Friday – Super Aguri at the back of the pack

While the atmospheric conditions were the same for everyone, the Super-Aguri team was unable to take advantage of the wet conditions like others such as Toro Rosso.

The two drivers, Sato and Davidson, finished in the second half of the standings in both the first and second practice sessions. The Japanese driver finished ahead of his teammate in both the morning and afternoon sessions.

The latest forecasts seem to indicate that drier conditions might occur. Super-Aguri will therefore have to work with this parameter in mind.

Takuma Sato – 14th and 18th

« It was a busy day, but not an easy one. We assessed the different levels of support with the new rear wing through the test tires, but we experienced so many different conditions that it wasn’t possible to complete the tire program. »

We need to analyze the data tonight to improve our performance and are confident about having more stable conditions tomorrow.

Anthony Davidson – 17th and 19th

« It was an interesting day with changing conditions. The car was performing well in the rain this morning. But throughout the second session with a drying track, it was difficult to get a good time on the way out. »

« I am disappointed with the times we ended the day with. I believe we are in the rhythm compared to our competitors and we have a lot of work to do before tomorrow and the early afternoon qualifying. »

« The changing weather conditions and the new track surface meant there were many laps to be completed today. We managed to finish the program and gather a lot of information. »

« We made a mistake this morning with Taku regarding the tires. Even if the changes made to this circuit seem to work well, there is a lot of work to do for tomorrow. »
