Sutil is confident about his future in F1

Adrian Sutil is happy with his current position because his future in Formula 1 seems secure and he can even afford to look around, not just at Spyker. All this because he knows he has a guaranteed seat for 2008.

The German already has the possibility of joining Spyker for next season, but with other teams showing increasing interest in this driver. The possibility of selling his contract in 2008 cannot be ruled out.

The latest rumors suggest he is leaving for Toyota or Williams, where he is said to have tried the Williams Grove simulator.

Sutil claims that nothing has been decided yet, and he is relaxed about how events will unfold during the off-season.

« Well, the good thing is that I have a contract with Spyker here, and it is certain that I will be in F1, » he stated on autosport.com.

« There is definitely some interest from other teams and we have to see what could be the best option. I want to be competitive in a team as soon as possible, I want to win races and score as many points as possible in the championship. »

« It’s a comfortable situation, I hope big teams will ask me to join them. I think the off-season will not be restful, » added the driver.

« There will be many changes, and I think many drivers will change teams. It will be interesting. The first one signs with a team, and then there will be a domino effect. »

Sutil specified, however, that he had not tested the Williams simulator.

« It’s just a rumor, » he declared. « It came from someone and I believe Frank Williams has already talked about it. It was just a rumor. I’m sorry! »

And even if his external options did not materialize, Sutil said he would be happy to stay with Spyker, especially now that the team has the backing of co-owner Vijay Mallya.

« We have more financial possibilities, and the situation should be more comfortable. The car should be better and the development will allow for a bigger step forward, » he concluded.
