Lewis Hamilton stated today that he did not want to win the world championship title a week later with McLaren’s appeal on the FIA’s decision.

« It would be a big mistake. Being world champion after the disqualification of several people is not how I want to be, I want to win by fighting on the track, not off the track. »

Räikkönen won on the Brazilian circuit while Hamilton only finished 7th. Kimi Räikkönen should therefore be world champion. However, at the end of the race, during the inspection of the cars of Nick Heidfeld, Nico Rosberg, and Robert Kubica, inspectors reportedly found the fuel temperature of these single-seaters abnormal. The FIA then announced that no sanctions would be taken against the two concerned teams. Today, McLaren has appealed this decision.

The Briton, who secured 4 victories in his first season, says that it would make him uncomfortable to win the championship due to disqualifications.

« This season was fantastic, the team was phenomenal! I am very proud to be part of the team, I am also very proud of my family who believed in me and supported me. »

« I’m only 22 years old, I still have many years to win the championship, but I want to do it on the track. » he concluded.
