Ben Hanley and Oliver Jarvis will get a taste of the potential of a GP2 single-seater next week in France at the Paul Ricard circuit thanks to a test organized by the DPR team.
The two Englishmen will take part in a private test day with the team on the circuit in the south of France. A total of 4 test days are planned, with the presence of about ten teams.
David Price – the head of the DPR team – stated he is confident: « We are happy to give two young Britons their chance and I am convinced they will have a good day. »
Oliver [Jarvis] and Ben [Hanley] are both experienced drivers and successful racers.
« I think he really deserves to have this test to give them an idea of the possible performances with the GP2, » continued the Englishman.
The team will also draw on the experience of Andy Soucek, Adrian Zaugg, Luca Filippi, and Karun Chandhock in order to prepare for the GP2 Asia series, which will start its first season in a few months.
« We have two objectives in this final test of 2007. Among them, preparing for the new GP2 Asia series is included. »
This championship will allow motorsport to develop in Asia and promote GP2. The series will also serve as a nursery to bring unknown new talents to light.
