Roldan Rodriguez, driver in GP2 this season, hopes to secure a seat in Formula 1 for next season. As a main driver or test driver.
The young 22-year-old driver conducted several tests with Spyker a few weeks ago. Tests that were then deemed conclusive according to the leaders of the former team, since renamed Force India.
It is therefore quite possible that the team will call him for new tests and even for a spot as a starter.
The team, however, aiming to be more Indian than anything else, will favor Indian drivers, which still leaves doubt for the Spaniard.
« I think I can become a driver for the team in 2008 at about 80%, » he commented.
« However, I must continue to be efficient during the trials, just as I have been until now. »
Although the Spaniard claims that Force India favors skills over money, it will depend on my lap times, not money; it is highly likely that significant sponsors will be of great help to him in securing a seat.
