Honda Racing F1 Team won two prestigious awards at the 2007 edition of the Green Awards held at the London Guildhall on Friday, October 26.

The team whose project was named My Earth Dream won the title in the category of best public relations campaigns with a budget of several tens of thousands of pounds. They faced very strong competition from Marks & Spencer and Procter & Gamble.

Honda’s campaign then received the Grand Prix for the best overall campaign, along with 18 other winners, including British Sky Broadcasting, DEFRA, Transport for London, the Guardian, Marks & Spencer, and the Carbon Trust.

The Grand Prix was awarded to Honda Racing F1 Team for its campaign that highlighted a remarkable environmental message and had the greatest capacity to raise public awareness.

The President of the 2007 edition of the Green Awards jury, Eric Falt, Director of Communications for the United Nations Environment Programme, stated that Honda’s campaign was the most creative, featuring a multitude of messages. It was a reaction of imagination that was well thought out.

Nick Fry, Managing Director of the Honda Racing F1 Team, comments: « It is a fantastic success for the Honda Racing F1 Team to receive such recognition for this 2007 edition of the Green Awards. »

« We are very happy to be in the company of so many remarkable organizations dedicated to environmental protection. The goal of our My Earth Dream campaign has been to use the global reach of Formula 1 to raise awareness on environmental issues around the world, and we have been very successful in achieving this goal in our first year, » he added.

Our initiative My earth dream received support from several thousand people and our environmental statement was seen by millions. Indeed, our single-seaters were free of all sponsors this year, and one could distinctly see our Earth as viewed from a satellite on the cars.
