Felipe Massa, who has been confirmed at Ferrari, has already stated very firmly that just like his friend and rival Lewis Hamilton, he has already put aside the disappointment of losing the world championship and is looking forward to the coming year.

The Brazilian had to play a supporting role for Kimi Räikkönen to become the world champion in the last race of the season. For his part, he ruined all chances of final victories at the Hungarian Grand Prix where he missed his qualifying and at the Italian Grand Prix after a suspension failure.

« I’m not someone who dwells on the past, » said Massa, who won three Grand Prix races in 2007.

« I look ahead. I look to the future. It is important to look towards the future. »

« We have all winter to design the best car, to have the most competitive car possible, » he added.

Massa, who recently signed a new contract that keeps him with Ferrari at least until 2010, is convinced that he will blossom even more next year, despite Räikkönen’s gain of the number one position that affords him a different status.

But the 26-year-old Brazilian admitted that he will have to overcome an additional unknown after revealing that he had never raced in F1 without traction control, which is banned for 2008.

« We do not yet have cars without traction control. »

I am convinced that it’s just a habit to develop. We will see if we need to change our driving style or if we need to make some adjustments to change the car, concluded Massa.
