The manager of Adrian Sutil has rejected all these new speculations that the young German is in talks with Toyota for a race driver role in 2008.
Although Jarno Trulli has a contract that provides for his presence with the Japanese team next year, there are still some uncertainties about Toyota’s intentions towards the Italian for 2008.
Recently crowned in GP2, Timo Glock has been confirmed as a race driver for the next season. Rumors suggest that Sutil could join his compatriot on the starting grid in Melbourne next March.
« It’s a lie, » declared Manfred Zimmermann to the Dutch magazine Formule 1 Race Report.
« Over the past six months, neither Adrian nor I have visited the Toyota factory, » he insisted.
Zimmermann reaffirmed that he was 100% certain that Sutil would honor his contract and therefore remain with Force India in 2008.
« Beyond that, Sutil is indeed eager to strengthen his status with a bigger team, » admitted Zimmermann, revealing that he is « in discussions with several teams » for 2009, and not just with Toyota.
