Alonso admits having a flexible contract with Renault

As he has just joined the French team to start working on the 2008 season, Fernando Alonso could be able to leave Renault at the end of the year.

The details of the new contract of the double world champion have not been officially disclosed, but rumors ran at the time that before finalizing the agreement, the parties were in disagreement about the long-term position of the Spaniard with the French team.

Most of the media that reported the information at the time of the signing are convinced that the 26-year-old man signed a two-year contract with an early departure clause in case Renault does not meet expectations in 2008.

The only thing Alonso has stated on this subject to date is for Sport Bild: « I have signed a contract until 2009, but it is very flexible. »
