Scuderia Ferrari unveiled its new single-seater; an F2008, the 54th car made by the Italian team and the reigning world champion.
According to the technical team, this new Ferrari had to be a revolution, but in the style of the previous single-seater. The F2008, coded under the name 659, looks a lot like the previous version, despite slight evolutions.
As a priority, the new 2008 regulations have forced the Scuderia to make their single-seater heavier. Heavier but also more reliable, according to Piero Ferrari (heir), the F2008 changes little in appearance. New front, with more rectilinear and thus more aggressive shapes, new front and rear wings, narrower than the previous ones.
The pontoons change little, but new fins appear, smaller than the previous ones, the main regulatory change aimed at reducing aerodynamic downforce.
The front wheels are equipped with a cover to prevent aerodynamic disturbances, while the rear wheels do not have one.
The next-generation ECU electronic unit is well incorporated into the F2008, which boasts another significant addition, the number 1, proudly displayed on its nose.
This F2008, designed under the direction of technical director Aldo Costa, will be on track tomorrow at Fiorano, the Italian circuit of the Scuderia.
