The Toyota team unveiled their new car this Thursday: The TF108 will be the official single-seater for 2008. The team hopes it will help them take a big step forward after a disappointing 2007 season.
The Japanese team, with one of the biggest budgets in Formula One, scored only 13 points last year and finished in a disappointing sixth position, with a sixth-place finish in a race as their best result.
This year, the team hopes to make a big leap forward with the TF108, which is unveiled today in Germany.
« We have significantly improved the TF107 to achieve today’s result and the 2008 single-seater, » said team president John Howett this week in Autosport magazine.
« I believe that we have the same level of equipment and resources as the big teams, we just need to keep up the pressure to improve the overall offering. »
The TF108, which takes on the McLaren-style rear wing, will be used by Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock, who joined the team after winning the GP2 title last year.
The new Toyota will make its track debut at the Jerez circuit next Sunday.
