Super-Aguri remains in talks with a number of investors, one of whom could become a partial owner of the modest Japanese team. However, the team denies any connections with Spanish businessman Alejandro Agag and therefore any offer from him. Yet, we reported the opposite just yesterday!
The team based in Leafield does not dispute that it is looking for potential investors to help secure its future, and has even held several interviews with a number of interested parties.
Agag, undoubtedly still interested, is the majority shareholder of the Campos Grand Prix team in GP2.
Talks between Agag and the team took place in the middle of last year, and some information from the German newspaper Auto Bild over the weekend suggested a 50% stake buyout as agreed.
This claim has been rejected by Super-Aguri. Daniel Audetto confirms that no talks have recently taken place between the team and Agag.
« We have recently had no dialogue or ongoing relationship with Agag, » said Audetto on this Monday.
Super-Aguri will launch its new car in Barcelona on February 19 and is expected to retain its drivers Anthony Davidson and Takuma Sato.
