The financial services company ING has expanded its involvement in Formula 1 racing by signing a new agreement to become the sponsor of the 2008 Hungarian Grand Prix. The event, which will take place in August, will be known as the ING Hungarian Grand Prix.
« Central and Eastern Europe is a vital market for ING, which is passionate about F1, » said Isabelle Conner, Chief Marketing Officer of the ING Group.
« Hungary is the only Grand Prix in Central and Eastern Europe and it is vital for us to support this event to continue building ING’s brand image in the region. It was a clear decision on our part to collaborate with the organizers of the Hungarian Grand Prix. »
The company also confirmed that it would continue to sponsor the Belgian race in 2008 and 2009, in addition to the two years of support already planned with the Australian Grand Prix. During the next season, ING, which is also the main sponsor of the Renault team, will be physically present at 13 of the 18 scheduled races.
The Hungarian event will take place at the Hungaroring on August 3rd.
