The prospect of another season with the Mercedes team in DTM seems to be fading for Daniel la Rosa. According to Sport Auto Aktuell, no new contract has been signed with the German manufacturer. The reason is most likely due to insufficient funds from the sponsors.
On the other hand, the 23-year-old driver might be heading to another team for the 2008 season.
La Rosa made his DTM debut in 2007 for the Mücke Motorsport team. He made a very strong impression by finishing third in his first race. But after that, he failed to confirm in another race and finished 13th in the championship.
« I had been in negotiations with Mercedes for a long time, but in the end, we couldn’t reach an agreement, » said La Rosa.
« Now, I am in a research phase to discover other horizons. »
There is currently no information on the successor for the seat left vacant by La Rosa at Mercedes.
