Kimi Räikkönen and Lewis Hamilton are both in the running to win prestigious Laureus awards. They are also nominated in two different categories. The information was announced earlier this week.

Finnish is one of the six nominees in the Sportsman of the Year category, after winning the title of world champion driver in 2007 with a one-point lead over Hamilton.

The Briton is himself in competition for an award in the » Revelation of the Year category, and this for the second consecutive year. In 2007, he lost to French tennis player Amélie Mauresmo.

Meanwhile, Scuderia Ferrari has been nominated in the Team of the Year category. Alongside them, there is the football club AC Milan and the Australian cricket team, also in the running.

The 2008 Laureus World Sports Awards ceremony will take place in St. Petersburg, Russia on February 18th.
