The 1997 world champion, Jacques Villeneuve, will likely part ways with his manager Craig Pollock.

The two men are long-time friends and associates who have been collaborating together for many years. This partnership began with the Canadian’s initial steps into the motorsports industry, continuing through the period when he was leading the BAR team in F1. More recently, Villeneuve, who is now 36, is in the process of reviving his career in NASCAR.

A few weeks before the start of the NASCAR season, the Canadian newspaper Le Journal de Montréal reports that Pollock and Villeneuve would stop working together this year.

It is said that Pollock is determined to stay in Europe with his family. This reason would seem to be the most likely cause of the split between the driver and the manager. But in addition to that, there are also rumors that Pollock’s management style has proven to be an obstacle to Villeneuve’s progress on the American scene.

« Craig has a new wife, and he seems to want to focus on his new family life which takes place in Europe, » said the Canadian.

« For my part, I choose to stay here in Canada, with my family, to continue my career as a NASCAR driver. Everything is going well with Bill Davis Racing, my team. I want to focus on it, continue my career with them, and therefore stay on the American continent, » he added.
