Renault boss Flavio Briatore claims that the McLaren-Mercedes experience has strengthened Fernando Alonso. After the 2007 season spent with the Woking team, the Spaniard is said to have an even greater hunger for success now than when he clinched his two driver titles with the French team in 2005 and 2006.
« Fernando has returned to the team with much more motivation and aggressiveness, » said Briatore in the columns of the Spanish newspaper Marca.
« The experience at McLaren has made him stronger. He is more responsible, more motivated, and more professional. He has really changed, but in a positive way. »
« I want to see him smile again and when I see him in the factory I find the old Fernando, » he added.
« In a sport like F1, where there is a lot of pressure, the danger is finding yourself alone to face this ruthless world. Fernando is definitely part of our team. »
We are delighted that he is back and I hope he will be happy. Then the results will follow.
