Ron Dennis has ruled out the possibility of replacing Max Mosley as president of the FIA in the future.
Mosley, who has been in charge of the FIA since October 1993, might retire at the end of his four-year term which will end in 2009.
A position which the McLaren-Mercedes team boss wouldn’t see himself in after the departure of the current president.
« I have never aspired to the presidency of the FIA, whether in the past or now. I prefer managing a team that pushes me to excel rather than governing a sport, » Dennis stated.
Dennis also downplayed his so-called poor relationship with Mosley, which in the past has been widely expressed through the press or media.
He said on this subject: « As Max has often said in the past, journalists and other ‘commentators’ tend to exaggerate the level of discord that exists between him and me. »
