An Indian subsidiary led by the CEO of the Spice Group, promoters of the A1 Team India, is in talks with the Super Aguri team regarding a potential investment.

However, Andaleeb Sehgal denies that the deal has already been finalized.

« There has not been any acquisition yet. We are currently talking to two teams, » said the leader of Spice from the Sehgal Group on the « Indianinfo » site.

« One of them is the Super-Aguri team. Today, we are conducting a realistic evaluation of the team. If we agree on an amount within our reach, we will then proceed with the acquisition. »

The general director of Super-Aguri, Daniel Audetto, confirmed yesterday that the Japanese team was looking for a partner to invest in the team.

« We are speaking with different people but we will first need Honda’s approval, » he told Reuters.

We are looking for a partner who has a certain level. If they bring a lot of money and want to impose a driver, then the FIA will have to approve this operation.

Indian investors who have been linked with Super Aguri may be eager to bring Narain Karthikeyan into a comfortable position in F1.
