The ING Renault F1 team approaches the 2008 season confidently, particularly following recent technological investments made by Renault in 2007 and the arrival of new partners for 2008.
The CFD Center (Center for Computer-Assisted Fluid Dynamics Analysis) is under construction in Enstone and will be operational in the second half of the year.
This infrastructure will provide top-level development resources for the team as well as for the future vehicle lines of the Renault brand.
Combined with a stable technical team and compelling results on the track, the outlook for this 2008 season is positive.
« We have the strength to overcome the disappointments we have experienced » commented Flavio Briatore, General Manager.
Renault has invested for the future in Enstone, notably through the new CFD center which will give us the capacity to keep moving forward. The new car represents a change of direction for the team, and we have been very aggressive with the concept chosen.
« If you add Fernando’s ability to unite the team on track, the combination should be powerful! Remember, in 2007, we finished third in the championship with a poor car, which we didn’t develop in the second half of the year. In 2008, we have a good car and a world champion driver. Things are looking quite good, » concluded Flavio.
