Felipe Massa announced his presence at the annual end-of-season kart race, which will once again take place in Florianopolis on November 30.

The International Go-Kart Challenge has become a major end-of-season event since its inception in 2006, attracting a large number of drivers who excel in prestigious series throughout the year, such as Felipe Massa for F1.

With, in addition, the possible presence of Michael Schumacher, last year’s winner, combined with greater international media coverage (television), Massa hopes that the 2008 event will be an unforgettable moment.

« Last year, the presence of Michael Schumacher and the rebroadcasting of the race in Europe contributed to generating great interest in the event. I’ve already been approached by a number of Kart racers eager to take part in the race in 2008, » said Massa.

But despite the increased interest in the event, Massa has ruled out increasing the size of the field for the moment.

The philosophy is to prioritize quality over quantity. I believe that 25 or 26 karts, just like in previous years, is a reasonable number.

Massa is volunteering for the event at the end of November because by then the Formula 1 season will have ended on November 2 with the Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos.
