Spanish automobile leaders have been invited to present a comprehensive report to the FIA on the measures they plan to take to prevent a recurrence of the events that marred the Barcelona tests last weekend.

It is the future of the country in F1 that is at stake since Spain is hosting two Grand Prix this year.

The FIA reacted in the strictest possible way to the incidents that occurred during the event, where some fans shouted racist insults at Lewis Hamilton.

The governing body has demanded a full explanation from the Spanish Automobile Sport Federation (RFEA) on what happened last weekend and, above all, on what will be done to prevent it from happening again.

She must now prepare her response and show that she too is considering the question with the utmost seriousness.

The RFEA can react in any way it wishes, it has been understood that the situation will be dealt with seriously by the FIA.

According to some sources close to the FIA, the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona and the European Grand Prix in Valencia are now in jeopardy due to what happened. The FIA does not want to tolerate the slightest trace of racism in motorsport.

Spanish fans have turned against Hamilton from McLaren because they feel that former world champion Fernando Alonso was unfairly belittled and forgotten when he was driving for the Woking team last year.

The recent trials have seen a resurgence of racism towards Hamilton and McLaren. In Barcelona, a new level was reached in the intensity of fans’ insults.

The organizers had to close access to the stands and had to erect barriers in the paddocks to try to ease the situation.
