The Indian team Force India has just unveiled this Thursday the car and its colors that it will use during the 2008 season.

The car is the same as the one used at the end of last year, but the colors on the single-seater are white and gold. On it, the logo of its most important sponsor is visible; Kingfisher, owned by the current owner, Vijay Mallya.

The Indian billionaire has bought the team, which last year was named Spyker.

Mallya stated during the launch that he is proud to have become the owner of an F1 team, especially since he knows that India will host its first Grand Prix in 2010.

« We must not underestimate what it means to have a team competing in the Formula 1 World Championship, » he stated on the stage in Mumbai.

« There are only 11 teams allowed to compete, and it is a great honor to be one of them. »

Mallya allocated a budget of $120 million for the 2008 season and expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming work the team will have to undertake to try to move up from the back of the grid.

« Improving performance and becoming competitive represent a huge challenge, » he said.

« It’s the only sport I know where a fraction of a second can make the difference and tip us into a position of victory or defeat. »

« It’s very exciting, stimulating, and rewarding to be part of a movement where the competition is truly at its peak! » concluded Mallya.
