The reliability of the RB4 boosts Webber!

Mark Webber admits that the reliability his team demonstrated during winter testing only encourages him even more…

The Austrian team had difficulties in 2007 with some reliability issues that hindered their chances of a better position in the championship.

The Red Bull drivers David Coulthard and Webber were victims of a total of eight mechanical issues last year. The team has worked to address this and ensure that these problems are rectified on the new RB4.

Webber said he was satisfied with the reliability to date and particularly about his Red Bull team.

« The reliability is rather good for us, » said Webber at a press conference in Australia.

« We are satisfied with the Renault engines that are performing well, even though they could penalize us at this stage of the season. We should have the most reliable car the team has ever known. »

Webber also believes that Ferrari and McLaren are still one step ahead of their rivals and that even BMW will struggle to compete at their level.

« It’s going to be a tough year for all the teams because, for example, BMW is very eager to beat Ferrari and McLaren, » added the Australian.

« I know that the team started the development of its 2008 single-seater very early because it was, in 2007, comfortably positioned in the constructors’ championship. BMW-Sauber seems, for the moment, dissatisfied with its level because it had hoped for a notch above. »

« It has certainly improved in recent weeks, but I don’t believe that the team is truly in a position to challenge Ferrari or McLaren, » he concluded.
