Mercedes-Benz will auction off one of its DTM race cars. All proceeds will be donated to the Laureus for Good Foundation.
The single-seater Class-C, the one with which Gary Paffett raced during the 2007 season, will be signed by several celebrities such as Boris Becker, Franziska van Almsick, and Niki Lauda.
The minimum bid price is 300,000 euros.
« Everyone at Mercedes-Benz is delighted to make a significant contribution aimed at supporting the ‘Laureus for Good Foundation’ by auctioning a ‘Laureus AMG Mercedes Class-C’, » said the head of Mercedes, Norbert Haug on the DTM website.
« Through this approach, we demonstrate our dedication to disadvantaged children and adolescents. The proceeds from the auction will be used to benefit significant sports projects worldwide. Since the foundation was established, more than 130,000 children have already been supported. »
« Obviously, we hope to reach an amount significantly higher than the minimum bid price which is set at 300,000 euros. »
« Each additional euro will allow new projects for the ‘Laureus Sport for Good Foundation’ to be launched and to maintain existing projects, » he concluded.
