The organizers of the Japanese Grand Prix have promised to do everything possible to ensure that this year’s race at Mount Fuji is not marred by various problems, as was the case last year for thousands of spectators.
The transportation issues for getting to the circuit, combined with complaints from spectators about the facilities, have forced the organizers to rethink their plans for the 2008 Grand Prix, which will take place next October.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Fuji Speedway President Hiroaki Kato announced that a number of changes would be implemented.
In addition to better access to the circuit for the many fans arriving by bus, Fuji has promised to install larger screens visible from the stands, better sidewalks, more conveniently located restrooms, an increase in staff to welcome spectators, and better information for them.
Kato stated: « Fuji Speedway is committed to renewing the trust we have with our customers by doing everything possible to make this year’s F1 race a success. »
