The weight of the single-seaters before the Turkish race

Since the 2009 season, the FIA has made public the weight of the cars, with the fuel load that can be easily calculated following the Saturday qualifying session.

Here is the weight of each qualifying car for the Bahrain Grand Prix, sorted in ascending order. Additionally, the specific amount of fuel and the driver’s position on the starting grid for the race have been added. This is to observe the different strategies.

The top ten drivers naturally have the least fuel. Alonso has the least but starts 8th. Therefore, it’s not a very good sign for the race. It’s Button and Webber who are doing the best as they are on the grid 2 and 4.

It should be noted that Kovalainen, although 14th, has the same amount of fuel as Rosberg or Kubica in the top 10. The same strategy therefore seems to apply. At the back of the grid, Bourdais has a lot of fuel for a one-stop strategy. Hamilton as well, who will start 16th tomorrow.
