The weight of the single-seaters for the Singapore GP

Since the 2009 season, the FIA has made public the weight of the cars, with the fuel load easily calculable, following the Saturday qualifying session.

Here is the weight of each qualifying car for the Italian Grand Prix, sorted in ascending order. Additionally, the exact amount of fuel and the driver’s position on the starting grid have been added. This is to observe the different strategies.

Lewis Hamilton made a significant impact on the outcome of the Singapore race as he secured pole position, but more importantly, because he is carrying much more fuel than his competitors. Only Robert Kubica and Heikki Kovalainen in the top 10 are heavier than the Briton. Among the top 10, Vitantonio Liuzzi is starting last!

It’s Nick Heidfeld who is the lightest, followed by the single-seaters of the two Red Bull drivers. Nico Rosberg, 3rd on the grid, has a little more fuel. Then come the drivers who didn’t make it past Q3. Primarily those who stopped in Q2, followed by the drivers who didn’t get past Q1, with a few exceptions. Like Giancarlo Fisichella, only 18th but with much less fuel than several of his colleagues!
