Mark Gallagher, General Manager of Cosworth F1, is convinced that the four new teams are on track to be ready for the first 2010 Grand Prix in Bahrain. Lotus, Campos Meta, USF1, and Manor F1 Grand Prix are the four new teams and have one thing in common: they will be powered by Cosworth next year. Gallagher is therefore encouraged by the progress these different teams are making.

« We are aware of what the teams are doing both technically and financially and we are impressed, » said Gallagher. « They are doing everything we expect from a team at this stage and we have no reason to have any doubt about their presence for the first GP of the 2010 season. »

« They all worked hard to honor their commitment with Cosworth. From a technical standpoint, they are performing exactly as we expected. The teams have asked the right questions and are doing a good job liaising with us on the technical side. There are many people involved in the four teams, and their preparation for the next season is on the right track. »

« All four have professional configurations and approaches that impressed us a lot. You only have to look at what they have accomplished in recent months. »

Doubts have spread about whether certain teams would be ready on time, particularly USF1, which has been the subject of intense speculation. However, Gallagher has no doubt that the four teams have already made significant progress in designing and building their cars for 2010: « We are probably the best positioned to judge how the teams are progressing, » added Gallagher. « We are in constant contact with each of them. They have made great progress over the past few months. »

In addition to supplying these four new teams with 2.4-liter V8 engines, Cosworth will also power Williams in 2010 after an agreement was reached two weeks ago.
