As the small world of Formula 1 goes on vacation before tackling winter testing, Motorsinside.com remains active and offers you a catch-up session. A single article that summarizes the F1 news of the 46th week of 2009. On the agenda is a first private testing session being prepared with the announcement of various test drivers for the teams. Red Bull, Toro Rosso, and Renault are on the list. With the approach of the 2010 season and the arrival of four new teams, Lotus and Campos are continuing their path and preparation for entry into Formula 1. Finally, and exceptionally, find the latest news from Mercedes, also concerning Brawn GP and McLaren.

A first private testing session being prepared…

The official end of the 2009 season occurred on November 1st. After a month of vacation for many, private testing will begin in the first days of December at the Jerez circuit in Spain (precisely from December 1st to 4th). It will be an opportunity for many teams to reconnect with a Formula 1 circuit. It is also a chance for many teams to introduce young drivers from their ‘young talent’ programs. Last week, three teams announced one of their drivers present for the Jerez tests. Daniel Ricciardo will be with Red Bull for his first experience in the sport. His teammate for the tests might be another driver from the Austrian team’s ‘young driver’ program. As for Mirko Bortolotti, he will drive an STR4 for Toro Rosso. Unlike Ricciardo, this is not his first experience since a year ago, he carried out tests at Fiorano on behalf of Ferrari. Finally, a Belgian will be in the seat of a Renault, specifically Bertrand Baguette. Like his peers, he is preparing as he should for this event. Also noteworthy is the presence of Andy Soucek for Williams and Alexander Rossi and Esteban Gutierrez with BMW-Sauber.

The new 2010 teams are moving in the right direction…

The big day is approaching slowly but surely for the four new Formula 1 teams. Two have made headlines last week by revealing some details about their preparations for entering the sport. First, Lotus announced a new sponsor: Aerolab, a company that has already been involved in the sport, notably with Toyota or Force India, teams that Mike Gascoyne, Lotus’s technical director, knows well since he headed those teams… Another point concerns Campos. It is well-known that their cars will be manufactured by Dallara. The first car seems to be on the right track. This is at least the observation of Adrian Campos, Toni Cuquerella, and Bruno Senna, the official driver for Campos. The driver was able to witness the progress regarding his future racing seat.
