The current president of Ferrari, Luca di Montezemolo, indicates that he may resign from his position as president of the FOTA (Formula One Team Association) at the end of the year. The Italian took on this role within the Formula 1 teams’ association since its creation in July 2008. Di Montezemolo talks about leaving the FOTA to focus on his role as president of Ferrari and Fiat.
« I took on the role of president because I felt it was good to have FOTA representatives involved in teams competing on the track to have real professionals from the sport, » said di Montezemolo to the magazine Autosprint.
« That’s what we did. However, I wear another hat and I can’t do everything. So, I really think I’m going to resign at the end of the year. »
