Driver for the Renault F1 Team in 2010, Polish Robert Kubica will compete in the Rallye du Var (November 27-29) in a Clio Renault Sport R3 Maxi.
Two weeks after his first experience behind the wheel of the Clio Renault Sport R3 on the roads of the Rallye Taormina-Messina in Sicily, Robert Kubica will be at the start of the Rallye du Var, the final round of the French Championship and the Clio R3 West European Trophy.
« I am interested in all forms of motorsport and I particularly like rallying, explains Robert Kubica. « It is a demanding and very spectacular discipline. I had the idea of participating in a rally in the near future. My upcoming arrival at the Renault F1 Team has created this opportunity. »
I will approach this event cautiously and without any particular goal. The roads in the South of France are as beautiful as they are challenging, and I will try to enjoy driving the Clio Renault Sport R3 Maxi to the fullest with the Chazel team, continues Robert Kubica.
Jean-François Caubet, Managing Director of the Renault F1 Team, adds: « A few weeks before the start of the preparations for the 2010 Formula 1 season, we are excited about the prospect of Robert competing in this rally in a Clio Renault Sport R3. Rallying is a discipline that encourages interaction between drivers and spectators, and we are sure it will attract many fans along the roads. »
Winner of the World Series Formula Renault 3.5 in 2005, Robert Kubica will be supported by his most recent successor. The Belgian Bertrand Baguette, who won in 2009, will be present on the roads of the Rallye du Var to support the Pole.
