The fate of the British Grand Prix will be unveiled on Monday during a press conference attended by the Silverstone management and the owners of the ‘British Racing Drivers Club’. The future of the event will then be discussed.
Silverstone has concluded discussions with the Formula 1’s chief financial officer, Bernie Ecclestone, to establish an agreement that would secure the long-term future of Formula 1 in Great Britain. These negotiations follow the complete failure of Donington Park.
Although there were some outstanding issues, particularly concerning long-term structural costs, it became apparent that progress had been made in recent weeks. Now, BRDC President Damon Hill and Silverstone Managing Director Richard Phillips will speak on Monday in London to discuss the results of the negotiations.
Silverstone Circuit has made it clear that it will not comment on the situation before the press conference.
