Abu Dhabi will indeed host the grand finale of the 2010 Formula 1 World Championship after a late date change confirmed by the FIA World Council.
The season finale was initially assigned to the Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos on November 14, 2010, but this date is now set for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina circuit. The race at Interlagos will be held on November 7 instead of October 31 to avoid coinciding with the presidential election.
The night race in Abu Dhabi concluded the 2009 calendar for its first appearance in the premier category of motorsports but was initially placed before Brazil for 2010. The Middle-Eastern organizers have thus succeeded in securing the 19th and final race.
The last uncertainty for 2010 comes from South Korea, which has yet to homologate its circuit to be included in the calendar.
